Vision board in turquoise

I came over a bit David Icke when buying a piece of A2 cardboard for my vision board and opted for turquoise rather than the usual white or cream. Turns out, it was just the right shade and fitted in nicely with my coastal themes.

My dream job is running retreats by the sea, hence there are pictures of yoga practice looking out onto a beach, stunning coastal terraces, and even the phrase ‘afternoon tea by the sea’ because any retreat run by me, will always feature cake, scones, and hot beverages. Daily.

But before any cutting or sticking began, the 2022 Vision Day started with some meditation and a bit of thinking. I wasn’t expecting to go quite so ‘deep’ and realised early on, that my excuse of ‘I can’t afford to live the life of my dreams’ is just that. An excuse.

When it came to compiling my vision board, I cut out the phrase ‘Time to find your new adventure’ and ‘Ready for adventure’ because that was exactly how I felt after a morning of introspection. Chomping at the bit for new challenges, experiences, and discoveries.

Before I took the scissors to old magazines, I saw in my mind’s eye, an open mouth in the centre of my vision board, with cut-out words spilling out because I want to make the most of my communication skills and while I am not sure if that’s through writing, podcasting or plain old conversation, it doesn’t matter. Marion explained it’s about visualising the feeling you desire, not necessarily what the outcome is and rarely, how you’re going to get there. It’s fine to map out some action steps, but in my experience, things rarely come about as I expect them to.

Serendipity was on my side because I leafed through an old newspaper supplement to find a mouth, exactly like the one I’d imagined. Perhaps I’d stored it in my memory bank after reading it a few weeks ago, I don’t know, but it’s funny how it appeared at exactly the right moment.

So, here I am. I want to have more fun, dress up and go out more often, go on holiday, find my purpose (which I am sure has something to do with communication) and have some adventures.

I haven’t a clue as to how I am going to make that happen and all I can do, is slow down, take a breath and be in silence as often as I can. That way, I’ll be primed and ready when opportunities present themselves.

Getting out of the house is a must too. I feel that strongly. It’s people who lead to new pastures and I have a hankering to socialise, in a Covid safe way of course. Watch this space folks.

I’m going to leave you with a quote that Marion put in our Vision Day 2022 booklets from Goethe, because it resonated with me: “the moment one definitely commits onself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.”

I don’t know about you, but I fancy a bit of that!

  1. šŸ™‚ Iā€™m doing mine this weekend!

Sounds like you might need a yoga teacher for your retreats! šŸ˜‚ – I know a few! On that point, are you going to come along for a bit of downward dogging on Thursdays at the church? Be lovely to see you x
